HOW TO APPLY

Step: 1

All applications will be assessed by the Embassy of Austria at New Delhi only. Please note that Austria Visa Application Centre, New Delhi is unable to receive and process applications send by courier / post; the applications must be submitted and collected either in person or by an authorized representative or a Travel Agent.

Please choose the right visa category for you and the requirements to make the visa application.

Step: 3

Applicants need to book a prior appointment for submitting their applications. On arrival at the visa application centre, you are required to take a token at the entrance and to be seated in the waiting area – you will next be called to our submission counter, where your application and supporting documents will be scrutinized – your photograph and passport will be checked for validity. Finally, you will be issued a receipt for the fees and service charge paid as an acknowledgement. Please carry the originals and copies of all documents.

NOTE:

  • Visa applications submitted at the Visa Application Centre (VAC) in Delhi will be forwarded to the Austrian Embassy the following working day;
  • The forwarding of visa applications submitted at any other Visa Application Centre (VAC) than VAC Delhi will take approximately 2 to 3 working days;
  • In general, decisions on complete and formally valid applications for visa C should be made within 15 days (excluding day of submission application and forwarding to the Embassy). In exceptional cases, this period may be extended to 30 or even 60 days. All visa applications will be processed as quickly as possible, taking into consideration the regional circumstances and high seasons of the Austrian diplomatic authorities.

Collection of passports can be done by the following:

Applicant himself.

#Third party collection of the documents or passports will not be permitted, except in the following cases:

  • Immediate Family Member ( i.e. Parents, Children, Siblings)
  • One member of a group collecting for the entire group
  • A person collecting on behalf of Govt. officials if authorized on the Govt. letter head or department
  • Representative of a company - Authorization letter on the letter head of the company and the official ID card

If any of the above comes for passport collection they need to carry the following documents

  • Original and Photocopy of Govt. ID card
  • Original ICR
  • Authorization Letter from applicant
